How does BOPAS (Buildoffsite Property Assurance Scheme) benefit you?

In an industry that is changing fast, to meet the needs of the government's targets to deliver 300,000 new homes per year, we must be sure to keep quality high whilst injecting the industry with the supply of much-needed homes…fast!

What is BOPAS?

To assure the industry that non-traditionally built homes are of the highest quality, BOPAS (Buildoffsite Property Assurance Scheme) provides assurance to the lending community and the wider community, that innovatively designed and constructed properties (against which they may be lending) will deliver consistent performance and stand the test of time.

Steel framed homes

Our Light Gauge Steel Frame 2B4P (pair of semi’s) ‘ASA show’ homes are available to view at our manufacturing facility in Melton. You can see not only how the modules are constructed but also a finished house with a selection of external claddings, roof finishes, varying window, external and bi-fold door types complete with a fully fitted kitchen and bathroom.

‘ASA Residential’ has a strong meaning for us, it follows our corporate identity of ‘AR’ and the word ‘ASA’ translated into Latin means ‘Sanctuary’. This provides a foundation of strong meaning which our homes will represent and we will portray through our marketing material and campaign.

Our ‘Green’ status (approved) on the BOPAS website will allow you to search our company details and approach us with the confidence our modern methods of construction system meets agreed lending criteria for mortgage and insurance purposes.

Our BOPAS assessment and evaluation

The MAR - ‘ASA Residential’ light gauge steel framed system, is assessed under the following categories;

  • Designer,
  • Offsite Manufacturer
  • Constructor

The process of accreditation evaluates and facilitates the adoption of best practice by manufacturers and constructors in key performance areas such as risk management, competency management, configuration management, procurement management and process control at each stage of project development, through concept, design, off-site manufacture and on-site construction. A structured and systematic approach at each phase of the project life cycle ensures consistency and repeatability and the Accreditation Scheme requires this discipline to be adopted by organisations seeking accreditation and their supply chain partners. The assurance of repeatability, delivered through the accreditation process, will provide assurance to:

Lenders, Investors, Valuers and Surveyors for a more consistent through-life performance of the innovative systems/products and therefore reduced variability in asset value and provides them with greater confidence as to the accuracy of valuations. The provision of latent defect insurance, as any form of variability in the system or product warranted, introduces greater risk for the warrantor.

We, as the designer, manufacturer and on-site (meaning at our factory) constructor have been rigorously audited and approved to maintain the highest levels of quality assurance throughout the process and to ensure our construction systems are approved for integrity, durability, performance and warranty.

Partnered with Lloyds Register & BLP insurance

BOPAS is backed by Lloyds Register & BLP insurance to give further Quality assurance and have a latent defects warranty so that your homes are mortgageable and insurable assets. Having this peace of mind gives you the confidence that our residential system is designed to last with no nasty surprises during the life of the building. Defects in all build types of properties can arise long after the sale of a property if the system has not been fully audited and approved by specialists such as BOPAS. Always make sure you buy with confidence. If there's no badge... walk away.

We are delighted to be one of only a handful of off-site contractors to be approved by BOPAS for delivering a Full Turnkey Solution for our Customers.
